Half Bad Review
Wanted by no one.
Hunted by everyone.
Sixteen-year-old Nathan lives in a cage; beaten, shackled, trained to kill in a modern-day England where two warring factions of witches live amongst humans, Nathan is an abomination, the illegitimate son of the world's most terrifying and violent witch, Marcus. Nathan's only hope for survival is to escape his captors, track down Marcus, and receive the three gifts that will bring him into his own magical powers-before it is too late. But how can Nathan find his father when there is no one safe to trust, not even his family, not even the girl he loves?
Half Bad is an international sensation and the start of a brilliant trilogy; a gripping tale of alienation and the indomitable will to survive.
The book starts with us having some kind of view of what I think is going to happen in the future. Nathan was in a cage but the first part was called how I got into the cage or something like that. It was kind of curious that it would be done, so that you can see what he was dealing with at what I thing is several times in his lifetime.
Nathan really did go through a lot during this novel. At the beginning he was around twelve years old and at the end he just turn seventeen. When he was younger he was easy to get to follow and he didn't do his own thing, he just didn't have the guts to go against orders or the rules. Now, he literary is doing his own thing and breaking about fifty of the white witches council's rules. He also is much more free, makes his own decisions and deals with the consequences on his own.
Nathan sacrifice way to much to find his father. I know that it is his dad and if it was me I would probably do the same, but everyone tells him that he is dangerous! What kind of idiot would try to find a compete psychopath? And when he did find him, his father thought about killing him! He was expecting a warm hug and Marcus to bring him to a baseball game (or hockey).
It ends with us finding out that Gabriel being missing and the lady (don't remember her name) was going to use his crush as bait to get him to kill his father. So that is fantastic.
